Teacher account

The type of account you need if you are a teacher.

What is a Teacher account?

A Teacher account is an account designed for teachers who want to use Numerical Acumen. It allows students to be attached to you in the system, which "powers" their accounts as well as letting you view their progress. This account type is also suitable for parents who want to give Numerical Acumen access to a number of children.

How do I get a Teacher account?

There are two ways to get a Teacher account:

Redeem a voucher

If your school purchases a number of teacher accounts at once, they will be supplied with a number of voucher codes.
You can then take one of these voucher codes and use it to create a Teacher account.
You can redeem your voucher on the Redeem Voucher page.

Purchase an account

You can purchase a Teacher account on the Join page. We currently accept payment via credit card or PayPal.

I have a Teacher account. What can I do with it?

Once you have a Teacher account, you can do various things.
The pages mentioned below are all accessible from your My Stuff page (once you are logged in).

Give your students access to Numerical Acumen

Giving each of your students your Teacher Code allows them to create a Numerical Acumen account for free.
Once they have joined, you will be able to view their progress.

Access the Support Materials

A booklet is provided for each module, which outlines the relevant theory and strategies.
Support matererials are accessible on the Support Materials page.

Group your students

For convenience, you can group your students.
If you have a lot of students, groups make it easier to navigate their game statistics and Challenge progress.
You can group your students on the Group Students page.

Play the single-player game

The single-player game is a fun way to improve your skills.
You can play it on the Play Game (single-player) page.

View your game progress

Every time you play the single-player game, your performance is recorded.
You can view your performance (and the performance of your students) on the Game Statistics page.

Enter a Challenge

If a Challenge is currently being held, your students can participate in it.
If you like, you may also create your own private challenge which only your students can enter.
You can enter Challenges on the Challenge page.

Play the multi-player game

The multi-player game can be played by up to 4 people (on the same computer).
You can play it on the Play Game (multi-player) page.

I have a Teacher Code. What do I do with it?

Once you have an account, you will be given a unique Teacher Code. Give this code to each of your students to allow them to create a Student account for free. They will automatically be attached to you in the system, which will "power" their account and will also allow you to monitor their progress. If you are not sure what your Teacher Code is, you can access it at any time on your Account page.

Changing your Teacher Code

From time to time, it may be necessary to change your Teacher Code. For example, if the code is disclosed to people who should not have it. You can change your Teacher Code on your Account page. Once you change your Teacher Code, the old Teacher Code will cease to function, and you will need to give your new Teacher Code to students in the future. You can change your Teacher Code whenever you want, and as often as you want.
